Darkroom chemicals?

darkroom
Erin asked:

What brand of chemicals do you use for black and white darkroom developing? And where do you order it from?

In the past, I’ve used Sprint Chemistry and Kodak. My only worry is that I have used those chemicals in a well-ventalated professional darkroom. I purchased an enlarger and trays and would like to be able to do some developing in my basement, but I worry abou the chemicals being too strong. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Erin, I pretty much always used B&W film and print chemicals in a closed area and I’m just fine. Take a look at my picture to the left and you’ll see the proof.

sells various brands of darkroom chemicals. I have used most of them. In ten years I only had one student have a reaction, and that was a minor skin rash after she worked 3 hours in the darkroom. They have safe chemicals, odor free ones and hypo-allergenic.
