How long does it take to finish your wedding photography?

wedding photography
memigen asked:

I am trying to figure up my budget, how long do yo usually need the photographer for?
I dont want any pre-ceremony preparation (like bridal party and such) pictures. Just of the location, us all dressed up, me and my (new) husband, and some photo’s around the area. We are getting married in a state park.

Thanks!

For what you want…I would say approximately 4 hours should do. A wedding day goes by very quickly and sometimes you have to ask your photographer to stay a little longer.
I would suggest that you go with a photographer that has packages and can give you all day coverage. Even though you might now want pre-ceremony pics right now, you might in the long run regret it. Remember this only happens once, and you want to be able to have the greatest memories through photography

I had two photographers for 8 hours and I still didn’t get all the pictures I wanted! The day goes by so fast and if you don’t have a check list and someone else checking them off as you go you miss photos! I had them 3 hours before and 4 hours during the 5 hours during the whole ceremony & reception and we had it all in one place!

This is the one thing we spent a lot on. It will be the one thing you get to keep and look at for th rest of your life and will bring back all the memories of that day!

my photographer did 8 hours. i didn’t ask her if she did less… but sounds like you could get away with 4 hours and then you should only have to pay 1/2 price.
