Safelight bulbs for darkrooms?

darkroom
dragonnety2005 asked:

If you buy a safelight bulb can you put it in a regular lamp and it be used in a darkroom for developing pictures? The entire safelight lamps are very expensive but I saw that you can just buy the bulbs. Yeah cheaper! if not, where can you cheaply buy darkroom lamps?

yes you can, that is what a safelight bulb is, (if it is a real safelight)

some bulbs advertised as safelight are low wattage, and are white light and will destroy your photographic film and paper.

make sure it is made to be a stand alone safelight. then, just use it.

i have both of them in my dark room (in a box while i move)
