What would be your ideal wedding photography package?
How many hours of coverage?
Just Personal wedding album or parents album included?
How many 4×6’s
How many 5×7’s
How many 8×10’s
16×20’s
and any other options?
How soon would you expect your final product?

The ceremony and the reception for sure. A day after the wedding to do a “trash session” and get some shots done. Possibly the getting ready portraits as well.
No albums. I want the high res proofs or the negatives or I am not hiring you. If I am paying for the finished prodcut and should not be forced to go through you to get my reprints or enlargements later down the road.
How many of each size depends on the pics. Probably about 100 prints total.
How soon to expect? 60 days.

My fiance and I got a great package. We get 8 hours of coverage, three locations, a wedding album, and a CD of every single hi-res image they take that day (this was a MUST). Many places charge you hundreds of dollars for this, but some studios are nice and will give you the images, as they should. There is no certain number of each size, just depends on how we want to do the layout of the album. Essentially we get a 15 or 30-page album (I can’t remember off the top of my head) and we pick as many pictures that we like and then they fit them in. Aside from the CD of images, an important thing for me was having 2 photographers (especially if you’ll have more than about 125 people). My proofs are ready when I come back from the honeymoon, so about 2 weeks after the wedding, and then the album is finished about 3 weeks after it’s ordered. Also, do not go with a company that requires full payment before you get your album — we paid a $250 deposit and then we have 3 more payments. The first payment is about 4-6 months after the deposit, then another third the day of the wedding, and the final third is paid when we pick up the album and decide we are happy with the results. Our parents’ albums are extra, but they gave us a 10% discount for booking more than a year in advance and so it was more than enough to add those albums on. Most importantly, make sure you see the work first, because if you don’t like their style or quality or you don’t get along with the photographer you’ll have that day, how good the package is doesn’t matter. Good luck!

A lot of brides now are looking for photographers that will be with them all day and give them a CD of all final pictures - editing - with full re-printing rights. All of the prints, etc are a bonus, but don’t really mean much anymore. With sites like my publisher offering do-it-yourself albums for $60 - prints just aren’t worth as much as they used to be.
