Make your own, I did it, use your bathroom, plenty of water, and usually good ventilation, maybe you have to work nights, blackout curtains are the most difficult part, otherwise contact your local library, they usually have that sort of information

It’s a dying breed - Try a university or buy used darkroom equipment off the net. I have a scanner which scans the negatives and makes prints off my printer - does everything I need. Photo processers and labs are hard to find.

there is a rental darkroom in santa monica on ocean park between bundy and 31st 310*395*3300

don’t recall the name off hand, the sign just says rental darkroom.

You can make your own if you have the time & money … go to a photography shop to buy the chemicals. If you don’t have the time/money, try asking around at a high school, college, or ask at that photography store if you would be able to use their darkroom. Another place I didn’t know about for a while - art museums. Especially if they are interested in showing art from local artists, they will probably be encouraging people to make some art in their community, so they should be more than happy to let you use their darkroom if they have one. Just ask.

Best thing to do is to make a darkroom yourself - if you have anywhere dark in your house, maybe a bathroom - get some chemicals and an enlarger, sure you can pick one of these up relatively easily (and it’ll be probably as expensive as hiring a darkroom in the long run) and play around.

Its much more fun that way and you’ll have all the time in the world then to play and get your images just right ! That’s what i did anyway ! Go for it !
