Where can I find a public darkroom to use?

Check with your local community colleges. Some privately owned camera shops still have them for rent as well, but they are a dying breed.

Hola Meghan,
I’m sitting right next to you and you looked so sad that I thought I would try to help. So here’s my solution: there is probably a darkroom at UL that you can use for a small fee.

I’ve never even heard of such a thing. If you are lucky and find an old-fashioned photographer who still uses the old photo processes, s/he might be sympathetic and let you work there for a small fee or the cost of materials.
